Slovakia called the closure of the sky for Fico and Vucic a contradiction to EU norms

The decision of the Baltic countries to close the skies to the planes of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is contrary to the norms of the European Union (EU). This was announced on May 9 by the Slovak MEP Lubos Blaga.
"The fact that they have banned our state plane with Prime Minister Robert Fico on board is a violation of all possible EU regulations. I've never seen anything so childish in my life. This should have consequences, serious consequences," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
He recalled that the Slovak Prime Minister is in Moscow and plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as other leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Blaga called this an achievement of Slovak diplomacy.
"The anniversary of the victory over fascism fills with pride the vast majority of Slovaks, who have not forgotten who saved us during the Second World War," concluded the MEP.
On May 6, it was reported that the authorities of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland banned Vucic's plane from crossing their airspace due to the Serbian president's intentions to visit Moscow to participate in events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). The corresponding actions are caused by "political sensitivity" to the purpose of the leader's flight. Despite these measures, Vucic and Fico arrived in the Russian capital.
On April 14, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs, Kaya Kallas, warned that European officials who travel to Russia to participate in the celebrations will face "consequences." However, Fico said he would come to Moscow on May 9, despite the bans. Vucic said the same thing later.
