Earlier in the day, the march of the "Immortal Regiment" took place in Sukhum. On May 8, the Immortal Regiment and the Garden of Memory campaign took place on the territory of the Russian Embassy in Washington on the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On May 8, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced that the patriotic action "Immortal Regiment" in 2025 would be held in 97 countries around the world.
