Denmark, France and Italy will buy weapons for Kiev for € 1 billion. On May 9, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

He recalled that on that day, the European Union (EU) officially announced its intention to allocate almost €1.9 billion from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation for military support of Ukraine.

"€1 billion of this amount will be used to purchase weapons using the so—called "Danish model" directly from Ukrainian manufacturers.<...> Special thanks to Denmark, France, the Netherlands and Italy, which will purchase Ukrainian weapons worth €1 billion," the Ukrainian Prime Minister wrote.

He recalled that more than 600 million euros will be allocated for artillery and ammunition, and more than 200 million euros will be allocated to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system.

On May 8, European Commissioner for Economics Valdis Dombrovskis announced that the EU had transferred to Ukraine a tranche of €1 billion from frozen assets of the Russian Federation under the G7 project.

On May 1, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal announced that Luxembourg would allocate €80 million to Kiev for military assistance, as well as €10 million for energy support to the country.On April 11, Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Shakalene announced that the country would allocate €20 million for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine.

Before that, on April 25, the head of the Austrian Freedom Party faction in the European Parliament, Harald Wilimski, said that the EU needed to stop sponsoring military conflicts around the world. He also called it absurd that it is the European Peace Fund that finances the acquisition of weapons.
