A reprint of the May 9, 1945 issue of the Izvestia newspaper was presented to the guests of the Victory Day Parade in Moscow. The headline "Happy victorious end of the Great Patriotic War, comrades!" is emblazoned on the main page of the historical issue, the footage is shown by Izvestia.

In addition, the guests of the parade were presented with a backpack with a gift set. According to correspondent Valentin Trushnin, the backpack contains a cap, a box with binoculars, a blanket, a raincoat, a St. George ribbon and a badge.

"There is also the Storming of Berlin, a military historical board game, Alexander Tvardovsky's book Vasily Terkin and chocolate 80 Years of Victory," he said.

Gifts were also presented to journalists covering the Victory Day Parade on Red Square. They were presented with mini-replicas of famous military sculptures. The figurines of the monuments to the Motherland in Volgograd, to the Liberator Soldier in Treptow Park in Germany and to the Soviet Soldier in Rzhev are neatly stacked in a wooden box, correspondent Nikolai Ivanov showed.

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, Izvestia released a reprint of the historical issue, an exact copy of the legendary newspaper dated May 9, 1945. More than 200,000 copies were donated to veteran and volunteer organizations in Russia, as well as to the country's military and historical museums.
