Sobyanin congratulated Muscovites on Victory Day

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the residents of the city on Victory Day.
In a video message that the mayor posted on his Telegram, he noted that in May 1945, the most terrible war in the history of mankind ended.
"Our country has won, and thus defended the right to life and freedom of millions of people, and brought peace to the peoples of the planet," Sobyanin said, adding that 80 years have passed since then, but "grateful memory brings us back to the feat of veterans and home front workers."
The mayor stressed that today, when Russia is once again fighting for freedom and justice, the legacy of the front-line generation is the main weapon of future victory.
A large-scale program of events has been prepared for Victory Day in Moscow. Various events take place on streets and boulevards, in museums and libraries, as well as in the Moskino Film Park and at VDNKh. From May 8 to 11, festivals, exhibitions, performances by artists, master classes, excursions and lectures are planned. In particular, the Moscow Victory Spring Festival is timed to coincide with the anniversary date. It includes readings of frontline poems and letters, theatrical performances, dance marathons and sporting events.
