A railway station has been opened in Donetsk

Donetsk Railway Station has started receiving and dispatching commuter trains. Now it is possible to get from the city by train, including to Yasinovataya, a correspondent of Izvestia reported on May 9.
The station has not actually been operating since 2014. The building and the adjacent railway infrastructure were damaged as a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"It is a great pleasure for me that for almost 12 years trains have started departing from our native station. For us, the movement of railway transport is a very significant event. And I am glad that it is timed to coincide with such a day as May 9, Victory Day. And I really believe that our real victory will really be very soon," said Natalia, a local resident.
On May 5, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, announced that the city authorities, on behalf of the head of state, were helping to restore the engineering, communal and social infrastructure of Lugansk, as well as Donetsk. In 2025, it is planned to reconstruct another 191 buildings.
