On May 9, a military parade began in Moscow on Red Square in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Legendary samples of military equipment, including the world-famous T-34 tank, will pass through Red Square. The latest developments successfully applied in modern conditions will also be presented. Among them are armored vehicles, missile systems and powerful attack drones.

The event promises to be large-scale, with the participation of various branches of the armed forces and an impressive aerial unit. In addition, this year's parade crews include participants in a special military operation.

On May 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Victory Day a sacred holiday for the multinational people of Russia.

29 leaders of foreign countries will be present at the parade. Among them are Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. In addition, the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Venezuela, Vietnam, Guinea-Bissau, Egypt, Zimbabwe, China, Congo, Cuba, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Palestine, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, and South Ossetia. India, Indonesia, Nicaragua, South Africa will be represented at a high level.

On April 30, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, noted that the high-level representation of many countries at the Victory Day Parade in the capital indicates that they share the importance of the May 9 holiday.

In 2025, the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War is celebrated on May 9. In January 1945, the Soviet army launched an offensive against Berlin. As a result of the fighting, at 00:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed the act of unconditional surrender of Germany, which served as the end of the Great Patriotic War.
