A gala dinner was given in the Kremlin on the evening of May 8 to the leaders of foreign countries who came to Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. Russian President Vladimir Putin personally said goodbye to each of the guests, shook their hands and thanked them for their participation.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying goodbye to the Russian leader, noted that the meeting went very well.
"Thank you, and it was a very good, very eventful day," the Russian president replied.
Foreign leaders tasted Russian cuisine served for dinner on the eve of the parade. The photo of the menu was provided on May 8 by the Telegram channel "Pool One".
According to the photo, the guests were offered several dishes. These included salad with crab and strawberries, dumplings with sturgeon and pike caviar, two soups to choose from: borscht with veal or Karelian ear, and three main dishes to choose from: halibut fillet with mini vegetables, deer medallions with wild mushrooms, and caramelized duck with asparagus. For dinner, several desserts were served: cloudberry sorbet or apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
The guests were offered wine of domestic production: Crimean "Blanc de Nege" and Krasnodar "Cossack Krasnaya Gorka", the drinks were made in 2022.
On May 8, Putin congratulated the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as the peoples of Georgia and Moldova on the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Russian leader called for preserving the bequeathed good traditions of friendship and mutual assistance, as well as not allowing the common historical heritage to be "forgotten" and sow discord between friendly peoples.
