Moscow and Washington are feeling disappointed in their relationship. This was announced on May 8 by Yuri Ushakov, assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Yes, we probably disappoint them somewhere. They disappoint us too, maybe even more than we disappoint them," Ushakov said during a conversation with Rossiya 1 journalist Pavel Zarubin.

He noted that the American side, although not fully, fulfills Russia's requirements. According to him, the administration of US President Donald Trump understands what goals Moscow is pursuing.

In addition, Ushakov added that the Russian Federation and the United States are nearing a bilateral meeting of the heads of state.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the words of US Vice President Jay D. Vance that Russia wants too much in the negotiation process, said that Russia's interests should be taken into account in the negotiations on Ukraine.
