Zakharova announced the participation of almost 100 countries in the Immortal Regiment campaign

The patriotic campaign "Immortal Regiment" in 2025 will be held in 97 countries. This was announced on May 8 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"About 100 countries will be covered by this action. I have a more accurate figure — 97 countries," she said in an interview with TASS.

At the same time, as the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted, more accurate figures can be given following the results of the action.

According to her, this action has already been carried out by many countries. She added that the Russian Foreign Ministry often publishes materials dedicated to Victory Day. In addition, the agency also monitors the preservation of monuments and their restoration.

"Our diplomats treat the monuments to our fallen soldiers, Red Army soldiers, our heroes, and military leaders, from privates to marshals, with the same care as if they were alive," Zakharova summed up.

In 2025, the campaign will be held in new formats.

The day before, an action "Immortal Regiment" was held in Ethiopia, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). It was clarified that more than 100 people took part in the action. All of them carried portraits of their relatives who died in the battle against Nazism.
