Technological and infrastructural areas are the highest priorities in Russia's relations with China. This was announced to Izvestia on May 8 by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"Infrastructure, technology, and many other sectors are very important to us. We also support the entry of companies from Russia into the Chinese market. One of our projects is to invest in the first railway bridge between Russia and China, which has reduced the movement of goods by more than 700 km," Dmitriev told correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky.

In addition, he also added that agreements have been signed in the field of technology with the Russian MGIMO Institute and one of China's leading universities, Tsinghua, which will promote joint start—ups.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that relations between Russia and China are self-sufficient and independent of the current global situation. He added that the cooperation between the two countries has now reached the highest level in its history.

He also noted that both countries have built a stable system of mutual trade and almost all foreign trade operations are carried out in national currencies, that is, in rubles and yuan.
