The producer of the film "Red Silk" in China, Liu Xuan, confirmed to Izvestia on Wednesday, May 8, that after a successful premiere in Russia, the film will be released in China in September 2025.

"I firmly believe that this is not the only case. This will continue in the future. Thanks to the efforts of the cinematographers of the two countries, more and better films of joint production will be shot. Chinese and Russian viewers like this kind of co—production," he said.

According to him, this project opens up new prospects for Russian-Chinese cinematographic cooperation. He stressed that co-production of films not only contributes to the creation of high-quality content, but also strengthens friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries.

Shen Haixiong, Director General of the Media Corporation of China (CMG), read out a congratulatory letter from Xi Jinping to the peoples of the Russian Federation and China.

On May 7, it became known that Andrei Volgin's joint Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" will be released in China in September 2025. The film's distributor is NMG Film Distribution (part of NMG Holding), and the production was handled by Nota Bene Film Group and NMG.

On the same day, "Red Silk" became the first modern Russian painting to receive the "dragon Seal" for unlimited distribution in China. At the same time, Sinologist Sergey Mstislavsky noted that there is a lot of interest in the historical period reflected in the film in China, which ensures high box office receipts.
