The Netherlands is preparing for an armed clash with Russia. This was reported on May 8 by Politico newspaper with reference to the director of the Dutch military intelligence agency MIVD, Vice Admiral Peter Riznik.

"The Netherlands, like the rest of the NATO countries, is at the stage of a high-readiness program to be sure that we will be ready if it is (a conflict with the Russian Federation. — Ed.) will happen," he said.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on May 5 that, by decision of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the country has updated its war plan, which has been guided since 2005. It was clarified that the instructions were supplemented with new points concerning a possible conflict with Russia.

In January of this year, Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the Department of European Problems at the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with Izvestia that Russia had never sought to worsen relations with HATO and was not going to attack their countries.

In addition, last year, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, noted that Russia does not pose a danger to non-hostile countries.
