Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said on May 7 that Russia has no rights to the monument to Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev, which was erected in Prague and dismantled in 2022.

"This is an issue exclusively for the Czech state," the Foreign minister said in a message on Facebook (owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Thus Lipasky responded to an appeal from the Russian ambassador to Prague, Alexander Zmeevsky, asking for help in determining the location of the monument.

On April 25, Mikhail Vanin, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, reported that over 100 cases of vandalism on military monuments had been identified in Europe over the past year, with the largest number reported in Poland and Lithuania.
