In the coming days, an emergency fifth class of fire danger is expected in the territories of the Central, Southern, Siberian, Far Eastern and Volga Federal Districts of the Russian Federation. This was announced on May 8 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.

"The fire risk is now noticeable in the Central Federal District, namely in the Lipetsk, Voronezh, Belgorod and Kursk regions. There is also a fifth grade in the Saratov region, and in the Volgograd and Rostov regions," he told TASS.

Vilfand clarified that a high fire hazard class is predicted in Siberia, and in several districts of the Tomsk and Irkutsk regions, the fifth fire hazard class will also be noted.

Vilfand said on May 7 that the temperature increase in the Moscow region is not expected until mid-May. The meteorologist clarified that there is now a trend that daytime temperatures will rise to +15 degrees by mid-May. He also added that one should not expect the same summer weather in May as in April.
