Gutsul's lawyer told about possible extension of the bashkan's house arrest

The Chisinau court may leave the head of Gagauzia Eugenia Gutsul under house arrest, lawyer Sergei Moraru told Izvestia.

"Moldovan authorities can specifically extend house arrest in order to then appoint another bashkan. And then, using such an argument as 60 days without performing work duties, they will have an opportunity to facilitate the appointment of a new head in Gagauzia. There are no grounds for extending the house arrest now, we have not had any deviations from appearing in court or at the prosecutor's office. If the house arrest is prolonged, their goal is precisely the appointment of a new head of the autonomy," Moraru said.

Since Eugenia Gutsul was detained at the end of March, it is possible that just at the end of May it will be 60 days that she is not performing her duties.
