- The Foreign Ministry was surprised after Kellogg's words about Moscow's disagreement with the 30-day truce

The words of the special envoy of the American leader Donald Trump, Keith Kellogg, that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preventing the start of a truce in Ukraine for 30 days are surprising. This was announced on May 7 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"The statement made by the special envoy of the President of the United States, Kellogg, in an interview with Fox News on May 6, is surprising. Russia has never been against a cease-fire. Moreover, we did it twice," Zakharova said.
According to her, the March and April truces, which began on the initiative of the Russian Federation, were sabotaged by the Kiev regime. She added that many nuances need to be worked out for a ceasefire.
"Thus, the only obstacle to a truce is Kiev, which violates the agreements and does not want to seriously discuss the terms of a long—term ceasefire," the official representative stressed.
On May 6, Kellogg announced that Ukraine agrees to a 30-day truce in the conflict and proposes to establish a ceasefire along the current line of contact, creating a 30-km-wide demilitarized zone on the border with Russia.
