The meeting of the leaders of China and Russia will give a powerful impetus to the development of relations between the two countries. This was announced on May 7 by Chinese President Xi Jinping upon arrival in Moscow.

"I will meet with President [Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin for in-depth communication on bilateral relations, practical cooperation, as well as on major international and regional issues of mutual interest in order to give a powerful impetus to the development of the Sino—Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and coordination in a new era," Chinese Central Television quoted the Chinese president as saying.

In addition, the Chinese president noted that in the changing international environment, China and Russia will jointly continue to maintain the international order and resist hegemony and the politics of force.

In addition, Xi Jinping stressed that the two countries have already contributed to maintaining the stability and multipolarity of the world.

Earlier, on May 6, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced that the leaders of the two countries would sign a solid package of documents during the upcoming meeting. In addition, the diplomat called the visit of the Chinese president one of the central events of Russian-Chinese relations this year.
