- The United States and Israel are considering the possibility of establishing an interim administration in Gaza.

The United States and Israel have held talks on the possibility of establishing an interim administration in the Gaza Strip, which will be led by Washington. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post on May 7.
The high—level consultations focused on a transitional government led by a U.S. representative that would control Gaza until it was demilitarized and stabilized, as well as until a viable Palestinian authority emerged.
It is noted that there will be no fixed terms for the existence of such an administration, and the duration of its work will depend on the situation in the enclave.
Other states will also be invited to participate in the work of the administration, the newspaper writes, but which ones are not specified.
On May 5, the United States and Israel attacked the Yemeni city of Hodeidah. In addition, the US military carried out a series of attacks on facilities located in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, controlled by Ansar Allah (Houthis).
The next day, Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi announced that the Yemeni Houthis and the United States, through the mediation of the Sultanate of Oman, had agreed to a cease-fire. This commitment includes a ban on Ansar Allah attacks on American vessels in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
