Migrants will be banned from entering all German land borders, even if they request asylum. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on May 7.

On this day, the Minister of the Interior of Germany, Alexander Dobrindt, gave an oral order to the German Federal Police Department to strengthen border control and increase refusals when trying to enter the country.

It is clarified that Dobrindt canceled the decree of former German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere from 2015, which stated that "third-country nationals who do not have documents confirming the legality of their stay and have applied for asylum are allowed to enter the territory of Germany."

It is also reported that about 3 thousand more people will be added to the current number of border service officers of 11 thousand people.

Friedrich Merz, who took office as Chancellor of Germany, noted on April 9, as a candidate for this post, that Germany intends to strengthen control over migration in the country. In addition, he stressed that the relevant measures will be strengthened at the borders of the state. German citizenship will be available again only after five years of residence in the country.
