80 years of Victory: live broadcast of the Parade on Red Square

The parade of military equipment on Red Square is the central event of Victory Day. It is watched annually by millions of Russians and residents of other countries. In 2025, the event will be held on a larger scale in connection with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The solemn procession will be broadcast by all federal channels — Channel One, Russia 1, Fifth, Zvezda and others. Media screens have also been installed in many cities, where the parade will be shown live.

In Moscow, you can watch the event in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora and on the Moscow metro trains. In addition, viewing is organized in every district of the city. Muscovites and guests of the capital will see not only the march on Red Square, but also footage of the historic 1945 parade.

You can watch the parade online on the Izvestia website, as well as on the large street screens of the IAR in many Russian regions. The viewing was organized by Izvestia together with the media holding. For the first time, such a show took place last year.

The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 Moscow time. It is at this time that the parade starts in Moscow. By tradition, the Victory Banner and the national flag of the Russian Federation will be brought to the Red Square. President Vladimir Putin will deliver a congratulatory speech from the podium.

Then, military equipment, led by the legendary T-34 tank, will pass through the main square of the country and military personnel, including members of the SVO and units of the allied states, will pass through. The aviation unit will complete the parade.

The guests of the holiday will be representatives of about 30 foreign countries. In particular, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of China Xi Jinping, President of Serbia Alexander Vucic and others confirmed their participation in the parade on May 9.

The event will last two hours. However, the celebrations will not end there. In the sequel, viewers will see archival chronicles, rare footage and stories about war heroes. Songs of the war years will be performed on the central streets and parks, exhibitions and performances dedicated to the Great Patriotic War will be held. And in the evening, Russians will have a big fireworks display.
