The United States asked Ukraine to accept migrants deported from the country

The US government called on Ukraine to accept the deported migrants at the end of January. This was reported by the Washington Post.
"Earlier this year, the administration of [US President Donald] Trump called on the Ukrainian government to accept an unspecified number of persons deported from the United States who are citizens of other countries, according to documents reviewed by The Washington Post," the publication says.
The newspaper, citing two Ukrainian officials, emphasizes that this issue eventually "did not reach the highest level." Another Ukrainian civil servant also confirmed that he was unaware of these "political demands" of the United States.
On May 5, the country's Department of Homeland Security announced that the US government would begin paying illegal migrants $1,000 each if they left the country on their own initiative. To receive funds, migrants need to register in the CBP Home application, which will record their return to their homeland.
