Izvestia visited Changan brand production in Chongqing less than two years ago. During this time, the intriguing car, which had something similar to the Tesla Cybertruck in its outline, shed its camouflage. The same thing happened with the brutal SUV, and both new items are planned to be delivered to the Russian market under the new Deepal brand. The Avatr brand has been expanded with hybrid models. The Izvestia correspondent visited the company's digital intellectual plant in China again and studied the Changan novelties.
They park themselves
The visit to Chongqing took place a few days before the Shanghai Auto Show, so we got to know some of the new products before their official premiere. For example, with the new Avatr 06 sedan, the most affordable model of the brand, it costs 2-3 million rubles in China.

The Avatr 06 sedan can be either fully electric, with one (343 hp) or two (598 hp) engines, or a sequential hybrid with one electric motor and a 1.5 liter turbo engine acting as a generator.
The Avatr 07 crossover is the brand's first model with a hybrid version.
The Avatr 06 will be released in Russia next year, and before that, two more new models will be introduced to our market — the Avatr 12 large electric sedan and the 07 crossover, which is offered in both electric and hybrid versions. The innovative Avatr 12 is able to park and exit the parking lot on its own.

A new brand for Russia
In addition, a new Deepal brand, known in China as Shenlan, will be introduced to our market by the end of the year. This young brand, whose first model was introduced in 2022, quickly became popular at home. Now he is exploring foreign markets. In 2025, it is planned to sell half a million cars, of which 100 thousand are outside China.
Deepal S07 is a mid—size crossover with dimensions of 4750×1930×1625 mm with a wheelbase of 2900 mm.
The Deepal S07 crossover will be the first to enter the Russian market, and it is already undergoing certification. European designers in Turin, Italy, worked on the exterior and interior of the car, and Huawei and battery manufacturer CATL participated in the development. It turned out to be a fast—moving car with a minimalistic interior - there is no dashboard here, but its role is played by a projector on the windshield.
The Deepal G 318 SUV is another model for Russia
The S07 is available in electric and hybrid versions — in any case, the car will be single-wheel drive. A hybrid is more promising for our market. In China, it is offered with different options for electric motor power (238 or 258 hp) and battery capacity (19 or 31.7 kWh). An atmospheric gasoline engine with a volume of 1.5 liters (95 hp) acts as a generator.
Hybrid SUV
The five-meter Deepal G318 SUV only exists in a hybrid version with one (252 hp) or two (430 hp) electric motors. The gasoline engine charges the battery, increasing the power reserve.
Deepal S09 is a direct competitor to Lixiang hybrids
The G318 is named after a Chinese mountain highway. This is one of the most popular brutal SUVs in China with a mandatory swing door and a spare tire on it. Apparently, it should "run" well off-road: the air suspension allows you to increase the ground clearance to 240 mm. This car will also appear on the Russian market.
Changan CS75 Plus for Russia to get traditional door handles
A decision has not yet been made on the hybrid flagship Deepal S09, although it could potentially be successful in Russia. The full—size six-seat crossover is a direct competitor to the Lixiang L9. The length of the machine is 5.2 m, and the electric motors develop a peak power of almost 500 hp.
The premiere is simpler
However, Changan's Russian plans also include more traditional cars, such as the new-generation CS75 Plus crossover. It is slightly larger than the third-generation car currently on sale in Russia. The interior has a panel with three integrated displays. Under the hood is either a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (192 hp) or a 2-liter unit with a capacity of 233 hp. Both work with an 8-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is promised for the Russian market.
Chinese "Cybertruck"
The most unusual new product from Changan will also appear in Russia under the Deepal brand. This is a Chinese "Cyber Truck", in China it is known as the Qiyuan E07, and it will go to export markets under the new Nevo brand. The car is just over 5 m long and combines the features of a pickup truck and an SUV. Thanks to the roof-sliding panel, the luggage compartment turns into an open body with a folding side. The body is separated from the passenger compartment by a glass partition that can be lowered. It's already difficult to surprise with a projection on the windshield instead of the dashboard, but the display instead of the sun visor of the front passenger is something new.
The Nevo E07 has an unusual silage
In addition, the E07 is the first Changan model to receive the latest intelligent driver assistance system with 11 cameras, two lidars and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate this car.
The crossover is offered in both electric and hybrid versions, with one or two traction electric motors. Moreover, while the all—wheel-drive electric train develops a top-end power of 598 hp, the hybrid version has only 492 hp. The E07 is based on the new SDA platform, the front part of the power frame and the floor are made as single cast parts, which reduced the number of stamped components from 163 to two. This ensures high structural strength and reduces weight.
Robots are working hard
The E07, together with Avatr 07 and Deepal S05, is being produced at the newest digital intelligent plant in Chongqing. It took less than a year to build the enterprise. The plant is designed to produce 280 thousand vehicles per year and as many Golden Armor traction batteries — they are assembled here. The welding shop is 95% automated and operates at a rate of one body per minute. Moreover, sealing and sealing of seams are performed by special gluing robots. The quality of the adhesive application is checked online using cameras.
They promise to bring E07 to Russia
There are more people in the final assembly shop — more than 500 employees work there, almost 200 of them on the main assembly line. Automation is 30%, robots are gluing glass and panoramic roofs, screwing tires. People carry out the final inspection of the assembled machines, but testing of the on-board network, audio system, and cameras is also fully automated.
The body welding process is fully automated
This is the first factory in China with full 5G network coverage. Thanks to this, information about production processes is transferred to the cloud, where it is analyzed by artificial intelligence.
