Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War is one of the most important events on the schedule of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian leader, told Izvestia about this on May 7.

"One of the most interesting, I would even say, maybe one of the most important days of this whole series of events. Because we will be meeting with our friend and one of our main partners, the President of the People's Republic of China [Xi Jinping]," Ushakov told Izvestia correspondent Maxim Prikhod.
