- Monument to the heroes of the Second World War opened at the school "City of the Sun" in Mytishchi

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII), a solemn assembly and the opening of a monument to the war heroes took place at the City of the Sun private educational school in Mytishchi, Moscow region. This was reported on May 7 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
The private school is located in the ancient Neklyudovo manor, the first mention of which dates back to 1623. Marshal of the USSR Kliment Voroshilov worked on its territory for many years. On the eve of the memorable date, a plaque commemorating the name of the commander was unveiled.
"We are unveiling a monument, probably to the heroes of not only the Great Patriotic War, but also to all those heroes who today protect our borders, protect our peace and tranquility. We are opening a commemorative plaque dedicated to Kliment Voroshilov. For many years, he carried out his activities in the building where we have been located for about 30 years," said Elena Tarasova, the school's director.
The Victory Day line-up is traditional for the educational institution and is held every year.
"The Immortal Regiment campaign has been taking place at our school for many years. Our task as adult educators is to instill the respect for this holiday that every child should carry through all their years and pass on to the next generations," Tarasova added.
On the eve of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Donetsk Museum of Local Lore earlier that day hosted the ceremony of laying a "time capsule" as part of the eponymous public-patriotic action of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. It will be kept in the Donetsk Museum of Local Lore until May 9, 2045. The capsule will be opened on the day of the 100th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
