Bridgestone, which left Russia, has registered a trademark in the country

The Japanese tire company Bridgestone, which has stopped doing business in Russia, has registered a trademark with the corresponding company logo in the Russian Federation, Izvestia found out after studying the Rospatent database.

Information about the state registration of the Bridgestone trademark has been published on the website of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS). The application was sold in November 2023, and its registration took place on May 5, 2025.

The trademark is registered in a number of classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS), including tires for vehicles. The copyright holder is the Bridgestone Corporation from Tokyo. The exclusive right expires in November 2033.

In March 2022, Bridgestone suspended production activities in Russia and exports to the country. The company has been present on the Russian market since 1998.

Now the former Bridgestone tire factory in Ulyanovsk is part of the Cordiant holding. On March 19, 2025, it was relaunched under the Gislaved brand. According to Alexey Mordashov, CEO of Severgroup, by the end of this year the company intends to produce 1.2 million tires at the enterprise, in 2026 production should increase to 2.4 million tires.
