Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin discussed trade and economic cooperation between the two countries during a telephone conversation with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Turchin. This was announced on May 7 on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"Mikhail Mishustin and Alexander Turchin discussed topical issues of Russian-Belarusian trade and economic cooperation, including in the field of energy and industry, as well as the implementation of joint projects," the press service said in a statement.

It is noted that during the conversation, the heads of government also raised the issue of the importance of deepening integration cooperation in the Union State and exchanged congratulations on the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On April 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia and Belarus had achieved outstanding results in the field of trade and economic relations - over 50 billion dollars in trade turnover. According to Russian statistics, this is more than 50%, the president said.
