The United States is considering reviewing spending on military equipment, including due to Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced on May 6 by US Secretary of State Daniel Driscoll in an interview with War on the Rocks.

"We continue to create and buy these sophisticated machines that can destroy very cheap drones," the head of the department said.

According to Driscoll, expensive military equipment is not sufficiently protected. An $800 UAV is capable of disabling equipment worth several million dollars. This, in his opinion, "makes us rethink" the country's spending on military equipment.

Earlier in the day, the Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, David Alvin, said that the main priority for the Pentagon is to receive permanent funding to modernize the nuclear capabilities of the US Air Force. In addition, F-15 and F-35 fighters, as well as B-52 strategic bombers, are currently being upgraded.
