Actor Michael Pitt was detained in the United States on charges of beating his ex-girlfriend.

American actor Michael Pitt, best known for the TV series "Underground Empire", as well as the films "The Mysterious Forest" and "Seven Psychopaths", was arrested for beating and raping an ex-girlfriend. This was reported on May 6 by the TMZ portal.

"Pitt was arrested on charges of sexual assault. The authorities accuse him of raping a girl he was dating at the time, and then assaulting her with several blunt objects," the publication says.

It is clarified that the actor is charged with four episodes of violence that occurred between April 2020 and August 2021. According to TMZ, Pitt has pleaded not guilty. He is currently released on bail of $100,000.
