American director Oliver Stone announced his desire to attend the Moscow parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). He told about it on May 7 during an excursion on the territory of the Moskino film factory.

"Yes, I plan to," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

It is specified that the American director came to the Moskino film factory in order to get acquainted with the new creative cluster. The tour for Stone was conducted by the head of the capital's Department of Culture, Alexei Fursin. The director also said that he had already been to the parade before.

"It was an incredible, impressive parade. I hope that everything will be safe," he said.

Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on May 6 that 29 leaders from invited countries would come to Moscow for the parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The country's main Victory anniversary parade will traditionally take place on Red Square in the capital. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on April 30, the high-level representation of many countries at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow indicates that they share the importance of the May 9 holiday. According to him, Russia has not just allies, but states that are close in spirit and ideology.
