American President Donald Trump exaggerates the importance of the United States in World War II. This was announced on May 7 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

She commented on Trump's post on the Truth Social network, which says that the United States made a much greater contribution to the victory in World War II than any other country.

"I couldn't let go of this thought: why does he write about the Second World War like that? Why is he talking about such a role for the United States? Why is he hyperbolizing? It is clear that he is such a person, a politician and a businessman," the diplomat said on Sputnik radio.

According to Zakharova, the American leader treats everything with "hypertrophied emotion," which is exactly what he built his political career on.

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the United States is experiencing not only an economic and political crisis, but also a moral one. She added that the American people don't know their history.
