- The oil and gas revenues of the Russian Federation amounted to more than 1,085 trillion rubles.

Russia's oil and gas revenues in April 2025 amounted to 1.085 trillion rubles against 1.081 trillion rubles in March. This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, which were reviewed by Izvestia on May 7.
The increase in state budget revenues is due to receipts from the tax on additional income from oil production, which in April brought in 489.2 billion rubles against 487.1 billion rubles a month earlier.
The base level of oil and gas revenues set by the Ministry of Finance for April was 923.3 trillion rubles. The mineral extraction tax provided the budget with 769 billion rubles this month, compared with 776.5 billion rubles in March. In addition, payments from the budget to oil companies under the fuel damper program in March 2025 amounted to 62.7 billion rubles, while in March they reached 100.3 billion rubles.
As noted in the message of the Ministry of Finance, the expected volume of lost oil and gas revenues of the federal budget is projected in May 2025 in the amount of 12.3 billion rubles.
"The positive adjustment is due to a predominant increase in the actual tax receipts on additional income from the extraction of hydrocarbons compared to the forecast values," the ministry said in a statement.
Thus, the total amount of resources allocated for the purchase of foreign currency and gold reaches 41.6 billion rubles. These operations will be carried out from May 13, 2025 to June 5, 2025, which means that the daily volume of purchases of foreign currency and gold will amount to 2.3 billion rubles.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on April 23: Moscow sees that a number of EU countries are ready to buy Russian gas again, and is ready to negotiate on this issue. He stressed that Russia has never politicized the issue of fuel supplies to the EU.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 17 that the topic of the EU's return to gas supplies from Russia periodically arises against the background of deteriorating relations between Europe and the United States, but the EU's policy in this area needs to be assessed based on specific facts.
