India will respond to any "adventurous" actions by Pakistan aimed at escalating the situation between the two countries. This was stated at a briefing on May 7 by a representative of the Indian Air Force (IAF). Byomika Singh.

"The Indian armed forces are fully prepared to respond to Pakistani adventures, if any, and lead to an escalation of the situation," TASS quoted her as saying.

According to her, even after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India showed restraint in its response.

On May 7, the Indian Armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, during which they carried out nine attacks on Pakistan's terrorist infrastructure and occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In turn, Pakistan retaliated after the attacks from the Indian side. It was clarified that the country's air force shot down three Indian Air Force fighter jets, including two Rafale aircraft.

Later in the day, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said the country was ready to end hostilities against India if New Delhi took steps to de-escalate. Asif added that Pakistan will stop military operations if India backs down. He also noted that such actions are not hostile, but serve to protect the territory.
