Former Dynamo goalkeeper Shunin announced his retirement from professional career


On May 7, Anton Shunin, the former goalkeeper of the Dynamo Moscow club and the Russian national football team, announced the end of his professional career. He is completing his professional career.
"Today I am announcing my retirement from football. At the age of 7, my parents brought me to watch Dynamo. At 37, my contract with the club ended," he wrote on his Instagram account (owned by Meta, its activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
Shunin shared that he had received offers to play for other teams, but he always rejected them and chose to play for Dynamo. The player called his sports career a happy time.
The footballer thanked the fans of the blue and white team and the Russian national team for their support and love, and also expressed gratitude to his career partners, staff "and everyone who helped along the way."
Shunin left Dynamo in July 2024 and has been without a club ever since. He has been in the blue and white system since 1994, and made his debut for the main team in 2007. Together with Dynamo, the goalkeeper played 366 matches, taking the second place in this indicator in the club's history.
As a member of Dynamo, Shunin became a three-time bronze medalist of the Russian championship in 2008, 2022 and 2024, and also reached the finals of the Russian Football Cup twice in 2012 and 2022.
