Nikolai Alekseevich Tokarev, a veteran from Sevastopol, who had dreamed all his life of seeing the military parade on Red Square with his own eyes, arrived in Moscow to participate in the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). On May 7, the invited veteran and his entourage were met at the train station by volunteers.

The veteran traveled by Tavria train No. 91/92 Sevastopol – Moscow, and representatives of the carrier JSC TC Grand Service Express and the train chief were also waiting for him at the exit of the carriage.

Nikolai Alekseevich was congratulated on the holiday, presented with flowers, a cup holder for the 80th anniversary of Victory, as well as souvenirs from the company. He noted that he was very pleased with the comfortable trip, as well as the level of service on modern trains running to Crimea.

"My dream was to be in Moscow at the parade, on Red Square. View the stands. It's not the same on TV, but to watch it in person — I don't know what impression it will make on me. I'm afraid it's colossal," Nikolai Alekseevich noted.

The veteran did not use the wheelchair offered to him, and walked all the way from the carriage to the station on foot. He explained that he likes to walk and walks at least 2 km every day.
