By May 9, a mural depicting the St. George ribbon and the Order of the Patriotic War, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, will appear on the building of an apartment building in Kursk. This was announced to Izvestia on May 7 by Andrey Penshin, chairman of the CROO of the Green Legion reserve border guards, a member of the public Council under the head of the city of Kursk and the initiator of the creation of the mural.

The artists have already started working on the mural. The idea of its creation was supported by Alexander Khinshtein, acting Governor of the Kursk region, after an appeal from members of the public Council under the head of the city of Kursk. Financing is provided from the regional budget.

"Two years ago, the idea arose to put an image of the St. George ribbon on the house on Karl Liebknecht Street, house 2, which is located opposite St. George Square. This St. George ribbon, it will be the hallmark of St. George's Square and embody the continuity of generations in the defense of our Fatherland," said Penshin.

According to him, a survey was conducted among the residents. He stressed that they reacted with understanding, supported the initiative and were glad to see such a mural on the building.

On May 2, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the restoration of the memorial complex "Mass Grave of Soviet Soldiers and Monument to fellow countrymen" in the village of Alekseevo-Orlovka, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), by the military of the 91st engineer and sapper regiment of the Center group of forces.
