China urges to prevent escalation in Ukraine

The main goal in the Ukrainian conflict is to prevent escalation. This was announced on May 7 by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.

"China's position on the Ukrainian conflict is consistent and clear, and we have always actively advocated promoting peace talks and a cease—fire," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that most countries of the Global South are playing a constructive role in the situation in Ukraine and are striving to accelerate the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict.

He noted that it is important to develop a common consensus and create the appropriate conditions for this.
