On May 6, the opening ceremony of the V International Festival of Proper Cinema took place at the Poklonka cinema of the Victory Museum. This year's festival is organized by the Victory Museum with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The film Forum is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.

The opening film was the full-length feature film "Timur and his Team" (Russia, 2025, dir. Andrey Semenov). An exclusive screening was held for the guests of the film forum, and the official premiere is scheduled for August 2025.

"It seems to me that there is a huge shortage on the screen and in literature in general, in the lives of characters from whom I would like to take an example. We have a huge number of negative heroes, we have few positive heroes. We would like to introduce this image of a positive hero, whom the guys would like to emulate," said Andrey Semenov, director of the film Timur and His Team.

A total of 47 films from 12 countries (out of more than 300 applications) were selected to participate in the anniversary festival. The participants of the film festival were films based on traditional values – humanism, charity, generational continuity and patriotism. 11 cinematic premieres will take place at the Victory Museum as part of the festival. For the first time, viewers will see the documentary "Cold Shooting of Hot Snow", the Uzbek film "Singer from Bukhara", the special report "Hidden Figures: The Big Game" and others. Non-competitive screenings in honor of the anniversaries of outstanding cinematographers will also be held during the film festival.: Innokenty Smoktunovsky, Peter Todorovsky, Nonna Mordyukova and other actors and directors. In addition, the audience will have creative meetings with directors, actors and producers.

In addition to the museum on Poklonnaya Gora, competitive screenings will be held in the Moscow region, Donetsk, Astrakhan and Kaliningrad.

"Also, at the same time, non-competitive screenings will take place in 72 regions of the Russian Federation," said Lara Pomykanova, director of the International Festival of Proper Cinema, head of the Poklonka Cinema.

More than a thousand venues will join the festival. These are the partners of the Victory Museum - participants of the international project "Territory of Victory", the Association of Historical and Military History Museums and the School Museum of Victory program. These are federal and regional museums, cultural and educational institutions, All-Russian children's centers and cinemas. All screenings and events within the framework of the festival will be absolutely free.
