- The Foreign Ministry pointed to the inviolability of ties between the peoples of Russia and France due to the crisis.

Despite the deep political crisis in Paris, the bond between the peoples of Russia and France will remain the same, and the feeling of friendship and mutual sympathy between the countries will not be destroyed. This opinion was expressed on May 7 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko during the opening of the Pages of Military History photo exhibition.
"Nevertheless, we are convinced that no matter how deep the crisis with France is, no one will be able to destroy the feeling of friendship and mutual sympathy that have always bound the peoples of the two countries," TASS quoted him as saying.
In May last year, Artem Studennikov, director of the first European department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, noted that relations between Russia and France are in the deepest crisis, which is difficult to compare even with the Cold War period. As Studennikov noted, such Russian-French relations are not Moscow's choice, but are the result of a "deliberate policy of deterrence and pressure on Russia, which has been carried out by Western representatives for many years, which has eventually transformed into a full-scale hybrid war."
In April of the same year, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe should be ready to build relations with Russia after the end of the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that a system and guarantees of European security should be built in Europe, which will one day help build neighborly relations with Russia.
