The "time capsule" was laid in a museum in Donetsk on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory

On the eve of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII), the Donetsk Museum of Local Lore hosted a ceremony of laying a "Time Capsule" as part of the public patriotic action of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation of the same name. Footage from the event on May 7 is published by Izvestia.

During the solemn event, Alexey Oleinikov, Deputy head of the investigative department, noted in his speech that the event symbolizes the connection between the past, present and future, uniting everyone with the great goal of preserving the memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our Motherland.

Employees of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and museum staff took part in the laying.

It is specified that the time capsule will be kept in the Donetsk Museum of Local Lore until May 9, 2045. It will be opened on the day of the 100th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On May 6, the Governor of the Omsk Region, Vitaly Khotsenko, announced that the renovated Victory Park with an exhibition of military equipment had begun operating in the region. During the opening ceremony, a solemn ceremony was held to lay a time capsule addressed to the participants of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Victory in 2045. The appeal reflects the region's contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
