The TV tower in Simferopol will light up with solemn illumination on Radio Day, May 7. Congratulations and symbols of the holiday will appear on the media facade, the press service of the Crimean Ministry of Information reports.

A portrait of Alexander Popov, the inventor of radio, will sparkle on the light panel. Images of equalizers, radios, and televisions will also be displayed on the TV tower.

According to the information of IA SevastopolMedia, the spectacle will be available from 21.00 to 23.00.

Alexander Popov demonstrated to his colleagues his invention, the world's first radio receiver, on May 7, 1895. On this day, the scientist showed it at a meeting of the Russian Physico-Chemical Society in St. Petersburg. The device made a strong impression on the audience, although not everyone understood the historical significance of this technical innovation.
