An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred off the coast of the Republic of Vanuatu


A magnitude 5.5 earthquake was recorded off the southern coast of Vanuatu's Tanna Island in the Pacific Ocean. This was confirmed on May 6 by data on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
It is noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 272 km south-east of the city of Port Vila, where 35.9 thousand people live. The source was located at a depth of about 109 km.
At the moment, there has been no information about casualties or damage, and no tsunami threat has been announced.
A magnitude 5 earthquake occurred on May 6 on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The earthquake was located on the territory of Tajikistan (Zaalai ridge), 23 km south-east of the village of Bor-Debe, 8 km south of the village of Kara-Kindik.
