It is specified that this award was established by order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov. It indicates the merits of military personnel and indicates the total number of personally completed combat missions as part of assault and other units that led to the capture of borders and facilities. More than 200 badges were awarded during the award ceremony.

Many of the decorated servicemen will also take part in the Victory Day Parade, which will be held on Red Square in Moscow on May 9 in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

"It is a great honor to be on such a round date. It's memorable and something that I can pass on to my children later," said Roman Opalkov, Hero of Russia, commander of the assault squad.
