Calculations of Hyacinth-S cannons destroyed the fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the South Donets direction

Crews of 2S5 Hyacinth-S self-propelled guns of the 5th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces destroyed fortified areas and command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Yuzhnodonets special operation area. This was announced on May 7 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is specified that during the combat work, the gunners hit several enemy strongholds, destroyed the manpower and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, concentrated in the area of the village of Volnoe Pole. In addition, artillery destroyed the defense lines of the Ukrainian militants, as well as transport routes used to supply the advanced positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The high-precision and long-range artillery of the Vostok group of forces is actively used to destroy fortified areas, hindering attempts by Ukrainian militants to hold the line of defense in key areas of the line of contact, the ministry noted.

These combat vehicles have proven their effectiveness during a special military operation.

On May 4, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the crew of the D-20 gun of the Dnepr group of forces destroyed a sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was hiding at a temporary deployment point on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region. It was clarified that the Ukrainian militants were discovered during a planned reconnaissance of the area using UAVs.
