Kellogg announced Kiev's desire to create a 30 km demilitarized zone.

The Kiev authorities want to suspend hostilities along the current lines of contact and are ready to establish a 30-kilometer demilitarized zone on the border with Russia. This was announced on May 6 by the special envoy of the American leader Donald Trump, Keith Kellogg.
"The Ukrainians want a freeze, a cease—fire on the current positions, and then they want to establish a demilitarized zone," the special envoy said in an interview with Fox News.
According to him, Kiev is ready to establish borders of 15 km from its side and expects that the United States will be able to persuade Russia to do the same from its side. Kellogg added that Ukraine also agreed to a "comprehensive truce" for at least 30 days, with the possibility of extending it.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the same day that the attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian territories indicate Kiev's position aimed at continuing the conflict. He recalled that the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin on a temporary truce for the holidays is relevant.
