Matvienko spoke about the significance of the Victory Parade in Moscow

The arrival of distinguished guests at the parade in Moscow, firstly, shows that, despite the total, coercive policy of rewriting the history of the XX century by the West to suit its current aggressive objectives, a huge part of the world's population remains on the side of the truth, which was clearly recorded at Nuremberg. And secondly, it unequivocally recognizes the decisive contribution of the Soviet people and the Red Army to the victory over Nazism. This was stated in an interview with Izvestia by Valentina Matvienko, Chairwoman of the SF.
"That is why they are going to Moscow and not to Paris, London or somewhere else. And, taking this opportunity, I want to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to our friends for their willingness to be with us on this solemn day," the speaker of the Council of Federation explained to Izvestia.
According to her, participation in the May 9 solemn and memorial events in the Russian capital becomes a kind of marker of maturity for these national leaders, as well as further establishes them as independent politicians representing the peoples of sovereign countries.
