The Indian Ministry of Defense announced the launch of Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.

The Indian Armed Forces have launched Operation Sindoor, during which they have already carried out nine targeted strikes against the terrorist infrastructure of Pakistan and its occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This was announced on May 7 by the press service of the Indian Ministry of Defense.

"Some time ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, attacking the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, from where terrorist attacks on India were planned and directed. <...> These steps were taken after the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in which 25 Indian citizens and one citizen were killed. Nepal," the Indian Defense Ministry said in a press release.

It clarifies that the Indian ministry considers these actions to be purposeful and balanced, which are not escalatory in nature.
