Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky 's threats do not affect the decision of foreign guests who plan to visit Moscow, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said in an interview with Izvestia.

"Undoubtedly, these are unacceptable statements, which, I believe, should not go unheeded and politically condemned in a civilized society. They are criminal. At the same time, of course, they are not spontaneous: behind every such statement by Zelensky are the voices of Brussels and London. But I can assure you: such threats certainly do not influence the decision of foreign guests who plan to visit Moscow," Valentina Matvienko told Izvestia.

According to her, those who accepted the invitation are experienced, established, intelligent politicians who are able to adequately assess reality and realize that Russia has all the necessary resources with a reserve to guarantee security at the parade and prevent any provocations.

"In this sense, the determining factor for them is trust in Russia and respect for our President, and not the attitude to the words of Zelensky," - added the speaker of the Council of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the media reported that Zelensky rejected Russia's proposal for a truce during the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, saying that Ukraine could not guarantee the safety of foreign guests who plan to arrive in Moscow on May 9.
