US President Donald Trump has said that India agrees to lift trade duties on American goods. This was reported by The Times of India on May 6.

"India, for example, has one of the highest tariffs in the world. We are not going to put up with this, and they have already agreed to cancel it," Trump told reporters at the White House during a press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

According to the newspaper, the US president did not disclose details about the sectors or goods to which the agreement will apply.

In addition, the Indian government has not yet made official statements, as negotiations on trade duties with the United States are ongoing.

On April 25, Reuters, citing sources, reported on the possibility of China canceling 125 percent duties on some American goods. It was clarified that Beijing's actions indicate concern about the economic consequences of the trade war with Washington.
