The United States will stop attacks on the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) in Yemen after they expressed their willingness to abandon military operations. This was announced on May 6 by US President Donald Trump at a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

"The Houthis, at least to us, have announced that they don't want to fight anymore. They just don't want to fight, and we respect that choice," Trump told reporters at the White House.

According to the head of state, the Houthis promised not to attack commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea anymore.

On May 5, the United States and Israel attacked the Yemeni city of Hodeidah. It is specified that the attack was aimed at a cement plant.

In addition, the US military carried out a series of attacks on facilities located in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, controlled by Ansar Allah. Dozens of Houthis were killed and injured as a result of the bombing.
